Popular Daytime Activities

The three most popular day time activities in Rincon (aka "Pueblo del Surfing") are 1) surfing, 2) watching surfers, and, 3) waiting for the surf to get up. Rincon is known as .

Tied for 4th place are hang gliding, parasailing, horseback riding, surf walking, scuba diving, snorkeling, fishing, swimming, sea kayaking, bowling, golf, biking, wind surfing, whale-watching in the winter, and the Rincon Sports Center, which has weights, a basketball court, a tennis court, and track.

Because of the heavy undergrowth in the Rincon area, there are few hiking trails, and they are not well used.

Evening Activities

Someone told me that after the sun goes down, there are only two things to do in Rincon -- count the stars and decide where to have dinner tomorrow night. (Personally, I think he lacked imagination.)

Still, there is some truth there. Rincon is a small town, and they roll up the sidewalks early. Restaurants close early, and, if you want to see a movie, you have to go to another town.

There are a few popular night spots, including Calypso and Tamboo's. Both have live entertainment. I've also heard that counting shooting stars in August can be fun.
